About APAP 2008
At the 2008 Arts Presenters' Conference discover the latest in Australian contemporary circus, dance, outdoor performance and physical theatre.
Since 2003, Australia has maintained a presence at the annual Association of Performing Arts Presenters’ Conference (APAP), featuring some of Australia’s best contemporary dance artists and companies as part of the Australia Council’s Dance Down Under strategy.
In a dynamic new direction for 2008, Australian outdoor performance, circus and physical theatre will now be profiled alongside contemporary dance under the banner: OzArts: Australian Performance Now.
Australia has a vibrant history of contemporary dance, outdoor performance, circus and physical theatre. From the outrageous antics of Circus Oz and singular beauty of Australia's Strange Fruit, to the unique and powerful work of Stalker, Australia’s love of the quirky, the extreme, and the physical continues to inform contemporary Australian performance culture.
We are thrilled to announce that the following artists and companies will participate in APAP in New York from 11 - 15 January 2008:
- Australia's Strange Fruit
- Back to Back Theatre
- Company Clare Dyson
- KAGE
- Ros Warby
- Shaun Parker
- Stalker
- The Candy Butchers
